Tank Peace Committee call off protest after participating in Jirga

TANK, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 29th Jul, 2025) A representative delegation of the Kundi Peace Council participated in a jirga (tribal gathering) held under the chairmanship of General Commanding Officer 40 Division to discuss the law and order situation in the area.

The jirga was convened at Captain Sikandar Shaheed Camp (Tank) and was attended by Sector Commander FC South, all wing commanders, Deputy Commissioner Tanweer Khan Khattak, District Police Officer Shabir Hussain Shah, and local elders.

During the jirga, a special prayer was also offered for the martyred minor girl who lost her life a few days ago in Wanda Zalo village.

The participants, including security forces, district administration, and local elders, unanimously signed a peace agreement.

Following successful negotiations, the protest scheduled by the local elders for July 29 was called off.

The participants emphasized the role of society in the war against terrorism and the importance of national unity. The jirga assured the participants that the tribal traditions and customs would be fully respected.

The jirga demanded decisive action against the Khawarij (banned outfit) and emphasized the need to establish Village Defense Committee Chegha Party. The directions were issued to implement all the demands presented by the Kundi Peace Council.

At the conclusion of the jirga, the participants inaugurated a tree plantation campaign by planting a sapling 'the Tree of Peace'.
