Managing Director Water and Sanitation Agency Sohail Qadir Cheema has said that state-of-the-art water treatment plant project costing over seven billion rupees has been completed with the cooperation of JICA and now more than 200,000 people in the eastern area of the city are being provided with clean drinking water
FAISALABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 25th Jul, 2025) Managing Director Water and Sanitation Agency Sohail Qadir Cheema has said that state-of-the-art water treatment plant project costing over seven billion rupees has been completed with the cooperation of JICA and now more than 200,000 people in the eastern area of the city are being provided with clean drinking water.
After completion of the project, trust between JICA and WASA has strengthened more and now the work on JICA supported project of installation of smart water meters has been accelerated.
He expressed these views during his visit to the water treatment plant at Jhal Khanuana on Friday. The JICA delegation and Deputy Managing Director Engineering Saqib Raza were also accompanied.
MD Sohail Qadir Cheema and the JICA members also visited the SCADA system for monitoring the water treatment plant and the analytical laboratory for making the water quality in accordance with hygiene principles and appreciated this system.
