LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 27th Jul, 2025) Work has been started on the design and cost of project of the Yellow Line Metro Train system.
LDA and NESPAK have started work on the design of the project. Lahore Development Authority sources told APP that in this project, no trees will be removed, while an underground trackless-tram will be run by cutting and covering on the Orange Line Mall Road station-style.
Likewise, a 12 to 14 foot road will be used on both sides of Lahore Canal Road for the trackless tram and a signal-free route will be made for the trackless wheel tram under the road on Canal Road and after making the route, the Lahore Canal Road will be restored for traffic again.
The Yellow Line Metro Train project in Lahore is anticipated to be ready by December 2026. The 24-kilometer route, stretching from Thokar Niaz Baig to Harbanspura, will feature 20 electric train-sets imported from China.
