The City Police have made the installation of Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) cameras mandatory for all commercial establishments and directed the shopkeepers to complete installation within one month or face legal action including sealing of their businesses
FAISALABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 3rd Jul, 2026) The City Police have made the installation of Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) cameras mandatory for all commercial establishments and directed the shopkeepers to complete installation within one month or face legal action including sealing of their businesses.
Police spokesman said here on Friday that the directive applies to all small and large shops across Faisalabad including grocery stores and every category of commercial outlet operating within the city.
He said that traders have been given one month to comply with the order after which a citywide monitoring campaign would be launched to assess implementation.
He warned that any shop found without a functional CCTV camera after the deadline would face action under the law including sealing of the premises.
Meanwhile, City Police Officer (CPO) Tanveer Hussain said that the initiative has been launched to strengthen the overall security environment, discourage incidents of robbery and theft, prevent cases of harassment, and ensure better protection of the lives and property of citizens and business community.
He said that widespread installation of surveillance cameras would also enhance police response, facilitate investigations through digital evidence, and contribute to maintaining law & order across the city.
He urged the traders to ensure timely compliance with the directive to avoid legal action and support collective efforts which were started to create safe business environment in Faisalabad.
