No compromise on illegal commercialisation: DG FDA

FAISALABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 20th Jul, 2025) Director General (DG) Faisalabad Development Authority (FDA) Muhammad Asif Chaudhry has issued a stern warning that there would be no compromise on illegal commercialisation of residential properties.

During a meeting, he urged the property owners, who are using their residential plots for business purposes, to obtain proper approvals and deposit dues immediately or face strict action including sealing of the buildings involved in violations.

Taking immediate notice of rising unauthorised commercialisation, the DG FDA directed relevant officers to keep the field staff active and ensure that all FDA-controlled housing colonies are regularly monitored. He stressed the need for a secondary monitoring mechanism to deter such violations more effectively and stressed strict adherence to building laws.

Muhammad Asif Chaudhry also issued a clear warning that no employee would be spared if he was found involved in collusion or negligence regarding illegal commercialization.

Dishonest and careless staff members should reform themselves or be ready to face disciplinary action, he added.

Addressing the complaints about delay in map approvals and issuance of Town Planning (TP) reports, the DG FDA instructed the Town Planning Department to evaluate staff performance and ensure that there are no obstacles in the way of fast-track service delivery.

Additional DG Qaiser Abbas Rind informed that the department has expedited its process for handling commercialisation approval requests. Only applications meeting the required standards and fulfilling all legal conditions are being approved, he said and encouraged the citizens to follow the legal route rather than resorting to violations. He assured that swift relief would be provided to all applicants who comply with the regulations.

Chief Engineer FDA Mehar Ayub, Director Town Planning Asma Mohsin and other senior officers were also present in the meeting.
