ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 11th May, 2026) Pakistan Romania Business Council (PRBC) leadership, comprising Sohail Shamim Firpo, Chairman PRBC, and Atif Farooqi, Advisor & COO Pakistan Romania Business Council held a high-level meeting with Zia ul Rasheed Abbasi, Director General Legal Affairs and Head of Implementation here at the President House on Monday.

The meeting focused on strengthening institutional collaboration, enhancing bilateral trade facilitation mechanisms, and exploring avenues for effective implementation of legal and policy frameworks that support foreign investment and international business partnerships.

The PRBC delegation apprised Abbasi of the Council’s ongoing initiatives aimed at fostering economic cooperation between Pakistan and Romania, particularly in sectors such as energy, technology, agriculture, and infrastructure development.

Abbasi appreciated the proactive role of PRBC in promoting Pakistan’s trade diplomacy and highlighted the importance of structured engagement between business councils and state institutions to ensure policy alignment and execution efficiency.

He elaborated on the role of the institution of Ombudsman and the Presidency being the appellate authority, emphasizing upon its mandate to provide maximum relief to individuals, as well as national and international organizations, against maladministration by government departments in Pakistan.

Atif Farooqi, Advisor PRBC added that such mechanisms were essential to strengthening governance, enhancing transparency, and building trust among the general public and foreign investors alike.

Both sides expressed a shared commitment to strengthening institutional linkages and ensuring that emerging opportunities in Pakistan-Romania relations were supported by robust legal and administrative frameworks.

The meeting concluded with a mutual understanding to maintain continued engagement and coordination for advancing shared economic objectives.
