Revamp Of Overhead Bridges Approved In Faisalabad

FAISALABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 13th Jul, 2025) The District Development Committee has approved key urban infrastructure upgrades including renovation of overhead bridges in Faisalabad for ensuring safe, smooth and high-quality travel for city residents.

Deputy Commissioner (DC) Captain (retd) Nadeem Nasir presided over the meeting while senior officials from Metropolitan Corporation, highway and building departments, and planning and development sector were also present on the occasion.

The deputy commissioner said that joints of Jhal Khannuana and Novelty Bridge would be repaired and replaced with an estimated cost of Rs. 78.5 million while Communication and Works Department of Punjab would supervise execution of this project.

He said that 108 expansion joints spanning 3,471 running feet will be upgraded from GTS Chowk to Satiana Road and from Satiana Road to GTS Chowk back. This project would significantly improve the flow of vehicular traffic and reduce wear and tear on vehicles, he said and added that carpeting of Novelty Flyover is also set to commence soon with an estimated cost of Rs.37.5 million.

He said that road strengthening, joint maintenance and smooth carpeting are critical steps for providing a safer and more sustainable infrastructure.

He directed all concerned departments to ensure timely completion of development projects with no compromise on quality standards for building a most modern and commuter-friendly environment in Faisalabad.
