Shipping Activity At Port Qasim

KARACHI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News -30th Augst,2016) : Brisk shipping activity was recorded at the Port Qasim where ships C.V Al-Manamah, C.V MSC Leanne, C.V MSC Leanne, M.V Golden Trader-I, M.V BBC Ontario, M.T Quetta and M.T Atlantic Glory carrying containers, soya bean seeds, general cargo, diesel oil and chemicals were allotted berths at Qasim International Container Terminal, Grain & Fertilizer Terminal, Multi Purpose Terminal, Liquid Cargo Terminal, FOTCO Oil Terminal and Engro Vopak Terminal respectively on Sunday. Meanwhile three more ships C.V Antalya, C.V Northern Magnum, and M.T Globe Tanya with containers and LPG also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during last 24 hours. Berth occupancy was managed at sixty percent at the Port on Monday where a total of nine berths were engaged by ships namely C.V Al-Manamah, C.V MSC Leanne, C.V MSC Chicago, M.V Alam Moler, M.V Golden Trader-I, M.

V BBC Ontario, M.T Quetta, M.T Atlantic Glory and M.T As Orella-I to load/offload containers, cement, soya bean seeds, general cargo, furnace oil, chemicals and palm oil respectively during last 24 hours. Cargo throughput during last 4 hours stood at 120,042 tonnes, comprising 71,490 tonnes import cargo and 48,494 tonnes export cargo inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 2,625 containers (TEUs) (599 imports TUEs & 2,026 TUEs exports) was handled at the port. DEPARTURES: Three ships, C.V MSC Chicago, M.V BBC Ontario and M.T As Orelia sailed out to sea on Tuesday morning, while another ship C.V Al- Manamah is expected to sail on same day after noon.
