
45-Day Ban Imposed On Swimming, Boating Activities

SARGODHA, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 17th Jul, 2025) The Punjab government has imposed a 45-day ban on swimming and boating activities in rivers, canals, and other water bodies across the province to prevent potential accidents and protect public safety during the monsoon season.
According to the DC office spokesperson here, the Punjab Home Department has issued a notification outlining the ban, which is effective immediately and will remain in place for 45 days.
The ban includes swimming in accumulated rainwater, rivers, canals, lakes, ponds, or any other water bodies, as well as unauthorized boating in these areas.
Deputy Commissioner Sargodha, Captain (R) Muhammad Wasim directed law enforcement agencies to strictly enforce the ban and take immediate action against violators.
He said that the government emphasizes the importance of keeping children and youth away from these hazardous activities to prevent any loss of life.
He urges citizens to exercise caution and follow safety guidelines during the monsoon season to minimize risks.
