
5,000 Couples To Tie The Knot Under Punjab Govt's Dhee Rani Programme

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 31st Jul, 2025) The Punjab government has prepared a comprehensive plan for 5,000 mass marriages for the next phase under the Dhee Rani programme.
The Social Welfare Department sources told APP that it has prepared a plan for 5,000 mass marriages.
The government will spend Rs 525 million on the wedding ceremonies and bear expenses for the bride and groom's clothes, jewellery and other items.
Wedding bookings will be made from Rs300 million in Punjab. The Punjab government will spend Rs 185 million on the clothes of the bride and groom, they said, adding, artificial jewelry worth Rs 40 million will be purchased for the bride.
Each bride will also get a dowry package of Rs100,000 through the Dhee Rani card. The Punjab government will make its own arrangements for 5,000 marriages in the current financial year.
