University of Agriculture, Faisalabad (UAF) hosts Graduation Ceremony

University of Agriculture, Faisalabad (UAF), in collaboration with the U.S. Consulate General Lahore, hosted Graduation Ceremony of the 3rd cohort of English Access Scholarship Program at Serena Faisalabad

FAISALABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 31st Jul, 2025) University of Agriculture, Faisalabad (UAF), in collaboration with the U.S. Consulate General Lahore, hosted Graduation Ceremony of the 3rd cohort of English Access Scholarship Program at Serena Faisalabad.

The event honored the achievements of 200 students who successfully completed two-year English language, cultural awareness and personal development program.

In her virtual remarks, U.S. Consul General Kristin K. Hawkin praised the teachers and students for their dedication and commended the program for its role in empowering youth through education and cross-cultural understanding. She appreciated the role of UAF as a partner in the execution of the Access Program.

She mentioned that two teachers of UAF’s Access Program got the opportunity to visit United States on academic and cultural exchange program.

She hoped that those teachers will practice modern teaching methods in their Pakistani classrooms.

In his keynote address, UAF Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Zulfiqar Ali said that communication is so important that it starts with the crying of a child immediately after birth. He further said that powerful communication is the key in presenting and proving the point.

He mentioned that performances, confidence and communication of students in the ceremony indicate that the Access Program successfully transformed the students in two-year.

Chief Guest Dr. Muhammad Iqbal from U.S. Consulate General appreciated the role of UAF, Access teachers and staff in achieving major objectives of the program.

He highlighted that all teachers of the UAF’s Access Program got trainings in Islamabad from international trainers.

He further shared information about upcoming online and other learning opportunities from U.S. Department of State for the teachers.

Principal Officer school and College and Director Access Program, UAF, Dr Abdul Ghaffar in the welcome address said that the effective communication is the key of the success in life and English Access program was doing excellent job to sharpen the communication skills of the students.

In a vote of thanks, UAF Librarian and Manager Access Program, Umar Farooq said that under the leadership of Honorable Vice Chancellor, the UAF’s academia, administration and Access Program team are learning and growing to achieve the objectives of the institution.

He mentioned that Dr. Muhammad Iqbal has been a source of motivation and growth for dozens of teachers & staff and hundreds of students in Faisalabad for the last 8 years.

Later, the graduates shared heartfelt reflections on their journey, highlighting how the Access Program helped them improve their English skills, gain self-confidence, and think globally while acting locally.

The event also featured cultural performances and certificate distributions.

The English Access Scholarship Program, funded by the U.S. Department of State, provides bright, youth aged 13–20 with free after-school English language training, soft skills, leadership development, and exposure to U.S. culture.

UAF Registrar Dr Asif Kamran, Technical Staff Officer/ Deputy Registrar Asif Saddique and others notables also attended the ceremony.
