Commissioner Orders Fast-track Resolution Of Pending Land Acquisition Cases For PHED Schemes

HYDERABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 7th May, 2026) Commissioner Hyderabad Fayyaz Hussain Abbasi chaired a meeting on Thursday to review pending land acquisition matters related to the public health engineering department.
The meeting was attended by the chief engineer public health engineering Hyderabad division Shafique Hussain Memon, director settlement survey and land records Sindh Abdul Sattar Hakro, deputy commissioners of Hyderabad, Badin, Jamshoro, Matiari, Tando Muhammad Khan and Tando Allahyar along with executive engineers, assistant commissioners and land acquisition officers of the concerned districts.
According to a handout, during the meeting, participants reviewed issues related to the purchase and possession of land required for various ongoing and proposed public health engineering department schemes.
Speaking on the occasion, the commissioner said that public health engineering schemes were directly linked to the provision of basic facilities including clean drinking water and drainage services to the public. He said that no delay in such projects would be tolerated.
He also directed deputy commissioners to resolve pending land acquisition cases on a priority basis and ensure early completion of all legal and administrative formalities so that development schemes could be implemented on time.
The commissioner further instructed the relevant officers to maintain close coordination and accelerate field level efforts for resolving land-related issues to ensure timely completion of public interest projects.
