The meeting was convened to assess departmental action plans, set timelines and ensure effective implementation of reforms aimed at improving service delivery and institutional performance in the province.
As part of the roadmap for Elementary and Secondary Education Department, 1,500 low-performing public schools have been identified for outsourcing to the private sector with the objective of enhancing academic performance and management efficiency.
Key milestones set for the year include the successful organization of four provincial-level sports competitions ensuring the availability of 100 percent infrastructure and furniture in schools and achieving at least 90 percent teacher attendance across the board.
The meeting was informed that Education Monitoring Authority is actively monitoring the implementation of the roadmap to ensure timely and result-oriented interventions.
Participants of meeting also reviewed roadmap for social welfare department in detail. It was told that efforts are underway to strengthen seven existing Dar-ul-Amans across the province. These initiatives include procurement of necessary equipment and enhancement of human resources to ensure better protection and support services for vulnerable women.
In addition, modernization of 121 Industrial Training Centers is in progress to provide youth with relevant skills and establish linkages with local markets for employment opportunities.
Simultaneously, the revamping of 15 Special Education institutes is ongoing to improve the quality of services for children with special needs.
In the higher education sector, the roadmap identifies 57 low-performing public colleges for outsourcing in order to enhance teaching quality and academic standards. The health department also presented its plan under which 58 Type-D hospitals will be outsourced to improve healthcare delivery in remote areas. Furthermore, a biometric attendance system is being introduced in both Primary and Secondary Healthcare facilities to achieve full attendance of doctors, midwives and paramedics. The system is expected to be fully operational by the end of this month.
For the Tourism Department, the roadmap outlines a range of impactful initiatives including the deployment of Rescue 1122 ambulances at key tourist destinations, implementation of effective waste management and sewerage systems, development of a real-time tourist footfall dashboard and restoration of prominent heritage sites. Additionally, plans are in motion to introduce audio guide systems in museums and engage vloggers to promote tourism in the province both domestically and internationally.
Addressing the meeting CS appreciated the progress made so far and emphasized the importance of a focused and detailed review process for all sectors to ensure the timely execution of development interventions. He directed the concerned authorities to report progress on a quarterly basis so that the intended outcomes of the roadmap produce tangible benefits for the people of KP.
