
DC Vows Strict Action Against Artificial Sugar Shortage

Sargodha, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 23rd Jul, 2025) Deputy Commissioner Sargodha Capt (retd) Muhammad Wasim on Wednesday ordered to ensure sugar supply in a timely and uninterrupted manner, and warned that artificial shortages would not be tolerated.
He issued these directions while presiding over a meeting to review sugar prices and supply in the district.
The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Rana Muhammad Abubakar, Assistant Commissioners, Deputy Director food, District Officer Industries, Additional Director Agriculture (Extension), sugar mill representatives, and wholesale dealers.
The DC said that the notified price of sugar is Rs 173 per kilogram, including all costs and profits. "Any excess charge would lead to immediate legal action, including FIR registration and action under the Para Legal Act", he warned.
The DC emphasized prioritizing public interest and taking strict action against violators.
The meeting was informed that sugar is available in sufficient quantities in the district, and the public would not face any difficulties.
