
Dr Shah Alam Earns PhD In Food Science From UAP

PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 24th Jul, 2025) Dr Shah Alam, a scholar from the Department of Food Science and Technology, Faculty of Nutrition Sciences, the University of Agriculture Peshawar (UAP), has successfully completed his PhD in Food Science and Technology under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ayub.
Dr. Shah Alam’s dissertation, titled "Impact of Nitrogen Deastringency and Drying Techniques on the Quality of Selected Persimmon Cultivars During Storage", was evaluated by distinguished scientists from the United States and Italy.
He presented his research findings in a defense seminar, where he effectively addressed questions raised by participants, demonstrating his expertise and command over the subject matter. Following the successful defense, he was declared eligible for the award of the PhD degree.
The defense seminar was graced by the presence of Vice Chancellor Prof. Emeritus Dr. Jehan Bakht, Chairman of the Department of Food Science Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ayub, Director of Advanced Studies and Research Prof. Dr. Muhammad Sajid, Dr. Yasir Durrani, Prof. Dr. Ehsan Maabood Qazi, Dr. Ali Muhammad, Dr. Sahib Alam, Dr. Ayesha Riaz, and Dr. Muhammad Faiq.
The attendees extended their heartfelt congratulations to Dr. Shah Alam and his supervisor, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ayub. They also expressed confidence that the research would make valuable contributions to the field of food science and technology, particularly in postharvest processing and preservation of persimmons.
