
FIA Gets One More Day Custody Ex-chairman PARC

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 17th Jul, 2025) A local court on Thursday granted the FIA further one day physical custody of ex-chairman Pakistan Agriculture and Research Council Dr. Ghulam Muhammad Ali and Director Establishment Division Akhlaq Ahmed in illegal recruitment
case.
The accused were produced before the court of Judicial Magistrate Ahmed Shehzad Gondal after the completion of
their 3-day physical remand.
On the occasion, former President High Court Bar Association Riasat Ali Azad appeared in court on behalf of the accused and took the position that all the recruitments were made on the basis of merit and regular advertisements were given.
During the hearing, the FIA requested for another 7-day physical remand of the accused. The prosecutor said that the Chairman PARC has been arrested on charges of illegal recruitments and misuse of powers. The Chairman PARC recruited 332 people illegally on 164 approved posts. Now, evidence and further investigation are underway.
The court extended the physical remand of the accused by 1 day. Both the accused will be presented in court again on July 18 after the completion of the remand. The FIA has registered a case against 19 officers including PARC Chairman Dr. Ghulam Muhammad Ali. The Public Accounts Committee had handed over the matter of the PARC to the FIA.
