
LDA Seals 125 Illegal Commercial Properties

LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 5th May, 2026) Lahore Development Authority Town Planning Wing has intensified its operations against illegal commercial buildings and defaulters of commercialization fees.
During a large-scale enforcement drive conducted on Tuesday, LDA teams sealed a total of 125 properties across various schemes and LDA-controlled areas in the city. The operations were carried out in multiple localities, including Canal Road, Gulshan Ravi, Samanabad, Gulberg, New Garden Town, PIA Road, and Sabzazar.
According to a spokesperson, 66 properties were sealed in Canal Road, Gulshan Ravi, and Samanabad for unauthorized commercial use, while 24 properties were sealed on PIA Road.
In Gulberg and New Garden Town, 20 properties were sealed due to illegal commercial activities and non-payment of commercialization fees. Additionally, 15 properties were sealed in Sabzazar during a recovery operation.
The sealed properties include private schools, bakeries, pharmacies, clinics, grocery stores, beauty salons, workshops, restaurants, food outlets, shops, and offices.
The operation was conducted under the supervision of Chief Town Planner-I Asaduz Zaman and Chief Town Planner-II Azhar Ali.
