Price control magistrates impose Rs 1.298 mln fine in fortnight

Sargodha, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 15th Jul, 2025) Price Control Magistrates imposed a total fine of Rs 1.298 million

from violators of price control act during the last fortnight.

According to official sources, as many as 26,461 inspections were

carried out in the district and found as many shopkeepers violating

price control act and they were penalized. Additionally, two cases

were registered, 47 individuals were arrested, and 32 shops were

sealed.

During the period from July 10 to 14, the Price Control Magistrates

conducted 26,461 inspections, registering increase from the 19,196

inspections conducted in the previous week (July 3-9).

During this period, Rs 606,000 were collected as fine, while 24 individuals

were arrested and 27 shops were sealed.

Deputy Commissioner Capt (R) Muhammad Wasim expressed satisfaction

over the performance, emphasizing that providing relief to consumers was

the top priority.

He assured that strict action would be taken against profiteers and hoarders.
