Proposal to build a road connecting Multan Road with Bund Road and Babu Sabu

LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 10th Sep, 2026) The increasing traffic pressure in Lahore has increased the need for an alternative to the existing entry and exit routes of the city, on which the Lahore Development Authority has started planning a new route.

According to the plan, a proposal has been prepared to build a new road to connect Multan Road with Bund Road and Babu Sabu. LDA has started the process of preparing a detailed and comprehensive plan for the new entry and exit route.

Under the initial planning, it is proposed to build a two-lane road on the new route.

A key objective of the new route is to provide a direct and alternative route for traffic coming from Multan Road to exit Lahore. The proposed road will provide relatively easy access for Multan Road traffic to Babu Sabu and the motorway.

The existing major entry and exit routes of Lahore include Thokar Niaz Baig, Ferozepur Road, Kahna and Ravi Pul, where traffic pressure is continuously increasing. In such a situation, a proposal has been made to develop a new route as an alternative passage for Multan Road traffic.
