ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 23rd Jul, 2025) Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi on Wednesday said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has lost its political relevance in the province due to internal rifts and mounting corruption scandals.
Speaking to a private news channel, he said that PTI's support base in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has eroded significantly, and the public has become disillusioned with the party’s conduct.
“The extent of infighting within PTI makes them their own worst enemy. They don’t need opposition but their collapse is self-inflicted,” he remarked.
Governor further said that a formula had already been agreed upon with the government ahead of the elections, but the results reflected PTI’s dwindling popularity.
“Had we been in government, we could have won up to eight seats. Even in open competition, we had the momentum to win more than our current share,” he added.
He also raised serious concerns over ongoing corruption scandals, including allegations of irregularities in tender processes and allotments.
