The Pakistan Ulema Council (PUC) has strongly condemned the statement issued by the parents of a woman recently murdered in Balochistan, declaring it contrary to the teachings of the Quran and Sunnah, as well as the Constitution and laws of Pakistan
LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 23rd Jul, 2025) The Pakistan Ulema Council (PUC) has strongly condemned the statement issued by the parents of a woman recently murdered in Balochistan, declaring it contrary to the teachings of the Quran and Sunnah, as well as the Constitution and laws of Pakistan.
In a joint statement released on Wednesday, the PUC said the parents’ remarks suggest that the murder was committed with their consent — a revelation they termed deeply disturbing and unacceptable.
PUC Chairman and Secretary General of the International Tazeem-e-Harmain Sharifain, Hafiz Muhammad Tahir Mehmood Ashrafi, along with senior clerics including Maulana Hafiz Maqbool Ahmad, Allama Tahir-ul-Hasan, Maulana Muhammad Shafi Qasmi, Maulana Asadullah Farooq, Maulana Tahir Aqeel Awan, Maulana Muhammad Ashfaq Pitafi, Maulana Muhammad Aslam Siddiqui, Maulana Aziz Akbar Qasmi, and Maulana Mubashir Rahimi, jointly signed the statement.
They declared that it is the responsibility of the state, law enforcement agencies, the Balochistan government, and the provincial judiciary to take firm action against all those facilitating the perpetrators.
The clerics categorically rejected the parents’ justification, stating that it violates Quranic principles and the Constitution. “Islamic Shariah mandates that even if a close relative is involved in an act of injustice, they must be held accountable,” the statement read.
Terming the incident both condemnable and tragic, the PUC called for a comprehensive investigation and stressed that justice must be served without delay or negligence. They urged the state to fulfill its constitutional and moral duty by ensuring that all those responsible are brought to justice.
