KARACHI, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 7th May, 2026) Sindh Madressatul islam University (SMIU) organized a rally at the university campus to mark the first anniversary of the Marka-e-Haq on Thursday.
The Vice Chancellor Dr. Mujeeb Sahrai led the rally was attended by the university deans, Dr. Jamshed Adil Halepoto; Dr. Abdul Hafeez Khan; Dr. Stephen John; chairpersons of various academic departments; heads of administrative departments; faculty; officers; and students in a large number.
The rally started from the main building of the university and culminated near the IT Tower of SMIU, where Dr. Mujeeb Sahrai, addressing the participants of the rally, said that in May last year, Pakistan’s Armed Forces fought a war with great bravery against Indian aggression, defeating India in just four days, thereby establishing an honorable global image of Pakistan.
The vice chancellor said that India wanted to win the war through aggression, barbarity, and terrorism, but Pakistan defeated India by defending its territory following international laws set by the United Nations. That is why Pakistan’s friendly countries, the United States, China, and the European Union, recognized Pakistan’s befitting response to India to protect their national borders.
Dr. Mujeeb Sahrai congratulated the Pakistan Armed Forces and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, on the one-year celebration of Marka-e-Haq, saying that the Pakistan Armed Forces responded to the enemy with the same patriotic spirit that the world viewed with respect and recognized Pakistan's strength and spirit.
Dr. Sahrai further said that the founder of Pakistan, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, had said that we have to tell the world that we have to live peacefully, so Pakistan has always talked about peace and has wanted to resolve the Kashmir issue along with the Indus Waters Treaty and other disputes created by India peacefully, but India has always played an aggressive role, which the world now rejects.
Vice Chancellor Dr. Mujeeb Sahrai also highly praised the role played by the Pakistani media during the May War and said that the Pakistani media made the world aware of India’s dirty intentions and acts by presenting the facts. On the contrary, he said that the Indian media played a very negative role and humiliated itself in front of the world by broadcasting false and fake reports.
Addressing the students, he said that our youth should also play their role for the security and development of the country.
He advised the faculty to produce successful and mentally mature youth who can make the prosperity of their country possible.
