
Two Mepco Officers Removed Over Safety Negligence

MULTAN, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 25th Jul, 2025) Chief Executive Officer of the Multan Electric Power Company (MEPCO) Engineer Gul Muhammad Zahid has ordered for removal of two officers from their positions for failing to ensure the use of safety equipment and protocols during field operations on Friday.
During a surprise visit to the Transformers Reclamation Workshop (TRW) in Multan, the CEO found staff working without proper protective gear and safety measures. As a result, Executive Engineer Transformers Reclamation Workshop (TRW )Multan, Khawaja Hafeezullah, was relieved of his duties and attached to MEPCO Headquarters. Similarly, SDO
Transformers Reclamation Workshop (TRW) Asghar Kalro, was removed and transferred to Dera Ghazi Khan Circle.
Chief Executive Officer of the Multan Electric Power Company (MEPCO), Engineer Gul Muhammad Zahid stated that worker safety in the field is the direct responsibility of supervisory officers, and negligence in this regard will not be tolerated. He stated that high-quality safety tools and personal protective Equipment are being provided to staff working in transformer workshops and operation with the objective of reducing workplace accidents.He issued clear directives that all technical personnel must compulsorily use safety gear during work. Any violation of safety SOPs in the future will result in strict disciplinary action, which may include dismissal from service.Playing with human lives will not be allowed under any circumstances.he added.
