Vice Chancellor GCU Refutes Rumours About Closure Of Govt College Kai Mori

HYDERABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 28th Jul, 2025) Prof. Dr. Amjad Ali Arain, Vice Chancellor of GC University Hyderabad, has strongly refuted recent rumors regarding the closure or relocation of Government College Kali Mori Hyderabad. Terming such reports as baseless, Dr. Arain clarified that the college is neither being shut down nor moved to any other location.

In his official statement, Dr. Arain emphasized that The University Act 2018 clearly ensures the continued existence and functioning of Government College Kali Mori Hyderabad. He informed that he had personally met with Mr. Shahab Qamar Ansari, Secretary College education Sindh, and also held multiple online meetings to ensure the smooth operations of the college.

Furthermore, he announced that another meeting with Mustafa Kamal, Regional Director Colleges, is scheduled to take place on Monday, July 28, 2025, at his office for continued coordination on the matter.

Dr. Arain confirmed that Government College Kali Mori Hyderabad is active on the official admission portal of the Sindh College Education Department. As of now, 719 students have secured admission to First Year (Pre-Medical and Pre-Engineering groups), and enrollment continues for other intermediate levels.

He also assured that classes for the academic session 2025–26 will begin as scheduled in August for both First Year and Intermediate programs. “Alhamdulillah, all stakeholders are on board and united in their commitment to the existence and functioning of this historic college,” he concluded.
