MCAT Calculator
Expressly, every medical university has set up a merit program to provide excellence in Pakistan's results and education. Further, before that, the Medical and Dental Council has introduced a method of eligibility for medical universities' clearance. Notably, the test is known as MCAT and MDCAT.
Furthermore, when a student leads to take admission in MBBS or BDS, he/she has to clear the entrance test. With time, the terminology and methodology of marks division have changed. Moreover, the results of the entrance test determine the entrance of the candidates.
Precisely, students must calculate the aggregate because it directs students in a specific way for their preparations. Further, the most crucial change is that the MCQ mark is reduced to One mark only. Notably, each MCQ has one mark with no negative marking.
MCAT Marks division
In 2018, the Medical and Dental Council issued a notification that changed the marks distribution for medical aggregate. Before 2018, matriculation was also equally important as 20% marks were of matric. Further, the mark distribution was as:
- 20% SSC Marks
- 30% HSSC Marks
- 50% Entrance test result
From 2019, the mark calculation got modified as:
- Marks obtained in Fsc or Equivalent as 50%.
- Marks obtained in the Entrance Test at 50%.
Most importantly, the aggregate calculation is fundamental as it determines not only the marks but also helps students select their medical institutes.
Mark segregation in MCAT
Mainly, there are 200 MCQ's in each paper. Further, after 2018, 200 questionnaires will be of 200 marks. Furthermore, as each MCQ with one mark only. Moreover, it is an exciting change as it has reduced the negative marking. Specifically, this modification helps students to achieve more marks in the entrance test. Moreover, the subject segregation in MCAT is the following:
- Biology with 80 MCQ's
- Chemistry 60 MCQ's
- Physics 40 MCQ's
- English 20 MCQ's
How to calculate MCAT Aggregate?
Generally, after that, the question arises about how to do MCAT calculation? Interestingly, it is a straightforward process as the subject division for MCQ's in MCAT is directly connected to HSSC results. Overseas or international students will submit equivalent degrees or marks along with the SATs for admissions specifically.
Particularly, the general Mark calculation in MCAT is the following:
- Marks in HSSC/ 1100 x 50
- Marks in Entrance Test/ 200 x 50
- Add values from HSSC and TEST results.
Specifically, there are the following steps for MCAT calculate:
- Marks in HSSC x 1100 x 0.50 = 50% of HSSC
- Marks in Entrance Test x 1100 x 0.50 = 50% Admission test
- 50% of HSSC + 50% of admission = aggregate marks
- Aggregate percentage = aggregate mark x 100
Conclusion:
I conclude that MCAT Calculation is essential for the students as it gives them a strong and straight direction towards their goals. Further, students can study with a pattern to avail more knowledge and study for better results.
