FAISALABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 25th Jul, 2025) The Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (FESCO) has achieved a record recovery of Rs. 594.946 billion under billing collection during the financial year 2024–25, exceeding the previous year’s recovery by Rs.4.43 billion.
Chief Executive Officer (CEO) FESCO Engineer Muhammad Aamir said that this remarkable performance includes recoveries from both government and private sectors, making FESCO a leading power Distribution Company (DISCO) in terms of overall efficiency.
He revealed that during FY 2023–24, FESCO faced a recovery shortfall of Rs.19.9 billion. However, not only this gap was fully bridged in FY 2024–25, but an additional amount of Rs.2.8 billion in outstanding dues was also collected. This recovery significantly contributed to FESCO's position at the top of efficiency list among all DISCOs, he added.
He said that total billing during FY 2024–25 amounted to Rs.25.279 billion to the government sector and Rs.565.624 billion to the private sector. Against these billings, FESCO successfully recovered Rs.25.842 billion from government consumers and Rs.569.103 billion from private consumers, thereby achieving an excess collection of Rs.4.
043 billion, he added.
He further said that in terms of electricity sales, FESCO made an increase of 237 million units during FY 2024-25 as it supplied 14,428 million units of electricity during this period as compared to 14,191 million units in the previous year.
The company also managed to recover Rs.484.57 million from persistent defaulters during the month of June 2025 alone, he added.
He said that during ongoing crackdown against electricity theft, FESCO recovered Rs.1365.13 million against 25.63 million units from 11,120 electricity pilferers during FY 2024–25. This marks a notable increase from FY 2023–24 when Rs.1148.80 million was recovered from 10,428 electricity thieves for 24.20 million stolen units, he added.
He said that more than 313,000 new electricity connections including domestic, commercial, industrial, and agricultural (tube wells) were installed across the region during past year. This expansion resulted in an increase in power demand by 1,039.96 megawatts.
The exceptional financial and operational performance during FY 2024–25 reflected FESCO commitment to improve service delivery, efficient recovery mechanisms and strict enforcement against power theft, he added.
