LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 18th Jul, 2025) An anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Friday dismissed a post-arrest bail petition of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Mian Mehmood-ur-Rasheed in a case related to vandalism and provocative speeches at Sherpao Bridge during May 9 protests.
ATC Judge Arshad Javed presided over the hearing and dismissed the plea after the petitioner's counsel requested to withdraw the petition.
The case was registered at Sarwar Road Police Station and pertains to alleged involvement in delivering inflammatory speeches and participating in vandalism during the violent protests that took place near Sherpao Bridge.
In his petition, the PTI leader claimed that the case against him was baseless. He pleaded for post-arrest bail, arguing that there was no direct evidence of his involvement in any violent activity.
