ABBOTTABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 17th Jul, 2025) The Rapid Response Force of the Abbottabad Wildlife Division successfully intercepted an illegal attempt to trade and transport a Tarantula spider, drawing praise from the Conservator Wildlife Hazara Circle for their swift and effective action.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, the Conservator lauded the dedication and prompt response of the wildlife team in protecting the region’s biodiversity. He further instructed the Sub-Divisional Wildlife Officer (SDWO) to launch a comprehensive investigation to trace the origin and intended destination of the consignment, and to identify the individuals or network behind the smuggling attempt.
This incident marks the latest in a series of illegal wildlife trafficking cases in the Hazara Division. In the past, Tarantulas have also been seized during similar smuggling attempts, underscoring the growing threat to exotic species in the region and the need for vigilant enforcement.
Authorities are intensifying efforts to crack down on wildlife crimes and protect endangered species from exploitation.
