
Flash Floods Claim 291 Lives Across Pakistan, Including 138 Children:NDMA

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 31st Jul, 2025) Torrential rains and flash floods have claimed the lives of 291 people — including 138 children — across Pakistan’s vulnerable regions, while 698 individuals have been reported injured, according to the latest data released by the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA).
The dead include 138 children, 51 women, and 102 men, while 698 others sustained injuries. Punjab was the worst affected, recording 158 deaths — among them, 69 children, 27 women, and 62 men. In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 66 lives were lost, including 36 children, 12 women, and 18 men. Sindh reported 28 fatalities, comprising 14 children, four women, and 10 men.
In Balochistan, the death toll reached 20, with 11 children, four women, and five men killed. Gilgit-Baltistan mourned the deaths of nine people, evenly split among three children, three women, and three men. Azad Jammu and Kashmir reported two deaths — one child and one man — while Islamabad Capital Territory recorded eight casualties, including four children, one woman, and three men.
Torrential rains and flash floods have left at least 698 people injured across Pakistan since June 26, according to updated figures from the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA).
Among those injured are 236 children, 199 women, and 263 men. Punjab remains the most severely affected region, with 556 reported injuries — including 170 children, 175 women, and 211 men — due to widespread damage and rain-related incidents.
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 81 injuries have been reported, comprising 31 children, 13 women, and 37 men. Sindh has recorded 40 deaths, including 27 children, six women, and seven men. Balochistan saw four people injured: one child, one woman, and two men. Gilgit-Baltistan also reported four injuries, including two children, one woman, and one man.
Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) confirmed 10 injuries, comprising three children, two women, and five men. Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) reported three injuries, including two children and one woman. The NDMA continues to coordinate rescue and relief efforts as authorities anticipate further rainfall in the coming days.
