KDA board reviews tourism projects, orders crackdown on illegal constructions

ABBOTTABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 27th Jul, 2025) The seventh meeting of the Kaghan Development Authority (KDA) Board was held at the office of the Secretary Tourism and Culture, under the chairmanship of Jamil Ahmad and discussed the authority's budget and the revision of rules and regulations.

During the session, the board also reviewed multiple developmental projects and initiatives aimed at promoting tourism in the scenic Kaghan Valley.

In an effort to preserve the valley’s natural beauty and combat environmental degradation, the board resolved to take strict action. It was decided that hotel owners failing to maintain proper sewage and drainage systems would face immediate legal action.

Additionally, authorities were instructed to crack down on unauthorized constructions being carried out without the necessary No Objection Certificates (NOCs).

The board emphasized its commitment to sustainable tourism and environmental protection, ensuring that future developments in the region align with ecological standards.

The meeting was attended by Secretary Tourism and Culture Dr. Abdul Samad Khan, board members Lieutenant General (Retired) Ayaz Rana, Masroor Khan, Raqeeb Khan, and senior officers from the Forest and Wildlife departments. MPA Munir Hussain Laghmani, Commissioner Hazara Division Fayaz Ali Shah, and Director General KDA Shabbir Khan participated in the meeting via Zoom.
