
Kohat, Hangu Administrations Announces Permanent Removal Of Encroachment

PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 19th Oct, 2025) The District administrations in Hangu and Kohat have stepped up efforts to remove permanent and temporary illegal encroachments from major marketplaces under the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government’s “Awami Agenda” initiative aimed at ensuring smooth traffic flow and public convenience.
In a statement issued here Sunday, Deputy Commissioner Hangu, Gohar Zaman Wazir chaired a meeting with shopkeepers, TMA officials, police officers and representatives of the traders’ community to discuss measures for permanent removal of encroachments.
The meeting focused on traffic management, public accessibility and cleanliness in busy markets including Bazaar and adjoining areas.
Deputy Commissioner urged traders to voluntarily clear footpaths and shopfronts, emphasizing that administration’s purpose was not to hinder business activity but to provide citizens with a clean and organized market environment.
He added that a public awareness campaign will be launched to encourage shopkeepers to maintain order and cleanliness.
In Kohat, Assistant Commissioner Dr. Nida led operations across Main Bazaar and surrounding areas.
Teams from the TMA removed temporary stalls, carts and illegal structures blocking roads and pedestrian walkways. Red boundary lines were marked to clearly define shop limits, while sanitation staff immediately ensured cleanliness after the operation.
Dr. Nida reiterated that such encroachments cause major disruptions to traffic and pedestrians, will be removed without any further delay. She appealed to the business community to cooperate with the administration in maintaining an accessible, organized and peaceful city atmosphere.
