
Public Transport Safety Reviewed

GUJRAT, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 12th Jul, 2025) Assistant Commissioner Bilal Zubair chaired a meeting to review public transport safety, traffic discipline, and encroachments on urban roads.
The meeting was attended by the secretary of the Regional Transport Authority (RTA), officials from the traffic police and municipal corporation, and representatives of transport unions. The AC said that the use of CNG and LPG cylinders in public transport is strictly prohibited under the law and directed all transporters to remove cylinders immediately or face legal consequences.
Issues related to illegal parking, overloading, and encroachments on footpaths by transporters were also discussed.
Traffic police and municipal corporation were instructed to launch joint operations to address the violations. The AC emphasized the need for a coordinated strategy among all relevant departments to resolve traffic issues and public complaints, ensuring improved and safer transport facilities for citizens.
