Chiniot District Administration Takes Emergency Measures Amid Rainy Season

CHINIOT, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 12th Jul, 2025) Chiniot district administration has launched a comprehensive survey of dilapidated and dangerous buildings on the instructions of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif in response to the current rainy season.

In this regard, on Saturday, a meeting chaired by Deputy Commissioner (DC) Safiullah Gondal was held to discuss the matter, during which the leave of municipal committee officers was canceled for Sunday, July 13.

During the meeting, the DC directed the immediate demolition of vacant dilapidated buildings and instructed enforcement teams to conduct inspections with machinery.

According to the details, building owners are required to initiate repair work on structures that need attention by tomorrow evening, failing which action will be taken.

Residents living in hazardous buildings have been advised to relocate to safe areas, and non-compliant buildings will be sealed. Assistant Commissioners will oversee the process, ensuring a thorough survey is completed by Monday evening.
