
Girl Drowns In Hazara Canal

MUZAFFARGARH, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 21st Jul, 2025) A tragic incident occurred in Paharpur, a locality in the Layyah district, where a six-year-old girl accidentally fell into the Hazara Canal near Kot Addu Road on Sunday evening.
According to initial reports, the child, Nuzhat, slipped from a railway track during an evening walk and fell into the canal.
Upon receiving an emergency call, Rescue 1122 swiftly launched an operation.
The rescue team, employing scuba diving, line searching, and boat support, managed to recover the child’s body within three hours. The body was handed over to the grieving family.
Rescue officials emphasized the importance of public caution near canals, especially in areas where safety barriers are lacking.
