
Sindh Takes Notice As Chicken Prices Go Up In Karachi

Officers of Bureau of Supply and Prices to initiate enforcement measures against vendors selling chicken meat above government-fixed prices
KARACHI: (UrduPoint/UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News-July 21st, 2025) The Sindh government on Monday took notice of the sharp rise in poultry prices across Karachi and directed strict action against shopkeepers violating official rates.
The Sindh authorities instructed officers of the Bureau of Supply and Prices to initiate enforcement measures against vendors selling chicken meat above the government-fixed prices.
In addition to price monitoring, the Bureau was tasked with ensuring the sale of hygienic and high-quality poultry.
Officers have been directed to carry out regular inspections to prevent the sale of substandard chicken.
A notification issued by the Sindh government mandated that officers of the Bureau of Supply and Prices submit daily reports by 5pm regarding market activity, pricing, and enforcement actions.
The provincial government also ordered a crackdown on hoarders, reaffirming its commitment to ensuring the availability of quality essential goods for consumers at regulated prices.
