LODHRAN, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 18th Jul, 2025) In line with Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s 'Safe Punjab Vision', monsoon emergency and relief camps are being established across Lodhran district to ensure timely response and assistance during the ongoing monsoon season.
Deputy Commissioner Dr Lubna Nazir stated that comprehensive preparations have been made to tackle any expected flood situation arising from heavy monsoon rains. The district administration was closely monitoring the river level. The Punjab government has devised a relief plan for monsoon rains and municipal committees have been placed on high alert.
Municipal committees across the district have been instructed to take immediate action for drainage of rainwater, particularly in low-lying areas. Administrators and chief officers of municipal bodies have been directed to utilize all available resources to prevent accumulation of water.
Furthermore, the deputy commissioner ordered all disposal stations to operate at full capacity during the rains. Ongoing desiltation operation of main sewerage lines was also being carried out uninterrupted by municipal staff to ensure smooth drainage.
