ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 12th Jul, 2025) Prime Minister’s Coordinator Rana Ihsan Afzal Khan on Friday said that protest is a democratic right, but warned that no one would be allowed to take the law into own hands.
Speaking to a private news channel, he said that the opposition’s role is not limited to protest, but also raising public issues in parliament.
He said that opposition should participate in parliamentary committees, and contributing to lawmaking and the budget process but the opposition has been completely failed in this role.
Criticizing PTI, he said that PTI introduced the culture of disruption and abusive language in politics and such behavior cannot be accepted.
Commenting on the possible suspension of PTI lawmakers in the Punjab Assembly, he said while the Speaker exercised his constitutional authority, he personally felt that de-seating was a harsh measure.
However, a committee has now been formed to resolve the matter, which he termed a positive development, he added.
He urged the opposition to play a constructive role and work collectively for the strengthening of democracy and the betterment of the country.
