Chief Secretary Balochistan, Shakeel Qadir Khan stressed that good governance and effective service delivery are vital pillars of societal progress
QUETTA, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 21st Jul, 2025) Chief Secretary Balochistan, Shakeel Qadir Khan stressed that good governance and effective service delivery are vital pillars of societal progress.
He emphasized that without integrated administrative frameworks, meaningful service delivery remains unattainable. Improvements in public services, he noted, directly boost institutional transparency and public trust.
Speaking to the participants of the national workshop, the Chief Secretary asserted that institutions functioning on transparency, merit, and accountability empower citizens with quality services. This, in turn, strengthens governance and social structures across the province.
He highlighted the government’s sweeping reforms rooted in transparency, merit, and accountability. These efforts are designed to elevate service standards, making public services more accessible, efficient, and timely.
Outlining the province’s strategic roadmap for the next ten years, the Chief Secretary emphasized economic, social, and environmental development, with targeted investments in infrastructure, education, healthcare, and other critical sectors.
The Chief Secretary highlighted the key initiatives take by the Balochistan government including the 11,000 new teachers appointed, revitalizing previously non-functional schools and enrolling more than 1.
75 million children.
He said around 164 Basic Health Units (BHUs) set to be inaugurated in the near future.
Specialized youth development programs focused on skill enhancement and career building.
The Chief Secretary underscored the government’s commitment to strengthening technical education, particularly through public-private partnerships that encourage investment and boost employment opportunities.
Collaborating with B-TEVTA, the province aims to equip youth with market-relevant skills, with 6,000 trained individuals slated to be sent abroad for employment this year.
To promote transparency and responsiveness, a new public grievance redressal mechanism has been introduced. Under this system, authorities will be held accountable for addressing citizen concerns, while development projects will undergo enhanced monitoring to ensure transparency and effectiveness.
“These initiatives are a testament to our resolve in strengthening governance and rebuilding public confidence in our institutions,” concluded the Chief Secretary
