LONDON: (UrduPoint/UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News-July 21st, 2025) Photos of Pakistan’s cricket star Shahid Afridi and Indian actor Ajay Devgn meeting at a stadium have gone viral on social media, showing the two warmly greeting each other and engaging in a cheerful conversation.
The images have sparked a strong backlash from Indian extremists, who have heavily criticised Ajay Devgn for the friendly interaction with the former Pakistani cricketer.
The viral photo surfaced at a time when the Pakistan-India match in the World Championship of Legends was cancelled in Birmingham due to rising tensions between the two countries.
What is the truth behind the viral image?
However, the reality behind the viral photo is different.
The image is being circulated with false claims as part of a propaganda effort, allegedly to provoke the Indian public in light of the recent Pahalgam incident.
In fact, the photo is from the previous year, when Ajay Devgn met Shahid Afridi during the World Championship of Legends 2024 in Birmingham.
While some extremist Indian users are falsely presenting the image as recent from 2025 to stir public sentiment, several responsible Indian citizens have clarified the truth about the photo on social media.
