Veterinary camps set up in rain-affected areas

SARGODHA, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 27th Jul, 2025) The Livestock Department established veterinary services camps in rain-affected areas to ensure the safety of livestock.

This was stated by Director Livestock Sargodha division, Arif Sultan, while talking to APP on Sunday. He said that the department had established camps in all tehsils including three camps in Bhera, six in Shahpur, four in Sahiwal and three in Kotmomin. He said that the Livestock department was providing vaccine and spray in flood-affected areas, adding that rapid response teams were also constituted to combat any emergency.

He said that a main control room had been established to monitor the affected areas and at each tehsil level under the supervision of deputy director concerned and customized mobile veterinary hospitals are also available with rapid response teams.

He said that the department had completed 100 percent HS vaccination, 98 percent FMD in large animals and ETV 100 percent in sheep and goats. He mentioned that 168,560 animals had been sprayed in June and the practice still continued.

He said that all type of vaccine are available at the district cold camp to combat any emergency situation.

The Punjab government has release funds amounting to Rs 9.560 million for establishment/revamping of civil veterinary dispensaries in Bhakkar under the Annual Development Program 2025-26.
