Bangladesh-Pakistan trade ties strengthened

MIRPURKHAS, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 27th Jul, 2025) Bangladesh Deputy High Commissioner SM Mehboob Alam during a high-level meeting of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Traders Association and District Officers at the Commissioner Conference Hall here on Sunday has emphasized the potential for strengthening trade ties between Bangladesh and Pakistan.

Alam highlighted the common products and traditions shared by both countries. He expressed his efforts to promote industry and trade between the two nations, particularly in the mango sector, with a focus on the famous "Sindhri" variety from Mirpurkhas.

He also mentioned that the Bangladesh government has always supported Pakistan for its development, prosperity, and friendship. He revealed that 17 delegations from Pakistan have visited Bangladesh, and a Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry delegation will organize an industrial exhibition of Pakistani products in Bangladesh in September 2025.

Bangladesh imports products like rice, onions, and dates from Pakistan, showcasing the growing trade potential between the two countries.

On this occasion, Deputy Commissioner Dr. Rashid Masood Khan briefed the meeting about Mirpurkhas' agricultural significance, highlighting its population of 1.6 million and its fame for "Sindhri" mangoes.

The meeting was attended by prominent business leaders, industrialists, and district officers, who discussed ways to further promote trade and cooperation between Bangladesh and Pakistan.
