Chinese Academy Of Sciences To Hold Public Science Day

The Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) announced Monday that it will hold its 15th Public Science Day from May 18 to 19
About 120 research institutes of the CAS throughout China will participate in the two-day science communication event. The public will have access to several state key laboratories, observatories, field stations as well as large-scale scientific facilities.
A series of science popularization activities will be held, such as touring exploration vessels and observing sunspots with telescopes.
Some institutions will offer science popularization lectures on the topics of space exploration, artificial intelligence, life science and the ecosystem.
According to Zhou Dejin, a CAS official, 2019 marks the 70th founding anniversary of the CAS and this year's event will showcase the academy's major scientific and technological innovations in recent years, allowing the public to experience the ever-changing scientific and technological innovations of China.
An "Online Public Science Day" will also be launched.
