KARACHI, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 14th Jul, 2025) Zone-VI and Zone-III continued their winning streak in the PCB Regional Inter District Senior (Karachi Region) tournament, clinching their second consecutive victories on the third day of the competition at various grounds. Both teams now lead the points table with 18 points each after securing nine points from their latest matches.

The day’s standout performances included an unbeaten century by Zone-III's Sami Afridi and a five-wicket haul by Zone-VI’s left-arm leg-spinner Israr Ahmed Awan, who delivered a match-winning bowling performance.

Match Summaries:

At Baqai Cricket Ground: Zone-VI edged out Zone-VII in a nail-biting finish, winning by just one wicket.

Zone-VII scored 168 and 143 in their two innings.

Zone-VI responded with 207 and chased down the target with 107/9 in 40.2 overs.

Key performances included Habibullah’s 35 and Haider Abbas’s 29. Zafar Ali Khan took 4/37, Fawad Khan claimed 3/42, and Najibur Rehman picked up 2/28 for Zone-VII.

At KCCA Stadium: Zone-III defeated Zone-II by a commanding 151-run margin.

Zone-III posted 350 in the first innings and declared at 252/4 in the second. Sami Afridi remained unbeaten on 105 (12x4, 2x6), with support from Shahzar Muhammad (49) and Adil Hussain (48).

In reply, Zone-II managed 266 in the first innings and were bowled out for 185 in the second.

Israr Ahmed was the bowling hero with 5/77 in the second innings and overall match figures of 7/131. Sami Afridi also contributed with the ball, taking 2/14, while Fahad Amin chipped in with 2/55.
