MOSCOW (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 19th January, 2019) Forty-three Palestinians were injured in clashes with the Israel Defense Forces in the Gaza Strip on Friday, the Palestinian Health Ministry said in a statement shared with Sputnik.
The ministry said earlier on Friday that at least 14 Palestinians had been injured in the riots, including two journalists and three medics.
"Forty-three [Palestinians] have been wounded as a result of the use of tear gas and combat bullets by the Israeli forces against peaceful demonstrators in the east of Gaza," the statement read.
Since late March, Palestinians have been waging an anti-Israeli campaign, dubbed the Great March of Return, which led to multiple cases of violence between the protesters and the Israeli security forces.
Local media have reported the Israeli authorities would make financial aid access from Qatar into Gaza conditional on the scale of the Palestinian protests.
