MOSCOW (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 01st March, 2019) Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said Friday that Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro had repeatedly called for a dialogue with the opposition without preconditions, but opposition leader Juan Guaido aggravates the situation by rejecting invitations to negotiations.
"President Maduro has already expressed his willingness to engage in a dialogue without any preconditions, of course. Unfortunately, Mr.
Guaido, whom the United States has appointed as a leader of Venezuela, categorically rejects such a dialogue," said Lavrov at a press conference after talks with Venezuelan Vice President Delcy Rodriguez.
"This is a great example of how constructively President Nicolas Maduro and his government behaves and how destructive and confrontational is the person who has been appointed from overseas to lead the country in violation of all international norms," Lavrov added.
