Kiev rudely interferes in church and religious issues in Ukraine, seeking to create a so-called united local church in Ukraine, the State Duma, the lower house of Russia's parliament, said in a statement in connection with the worsening situation in Ukraine on Thursday.
MOSCOW (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 18th October, 2018) Kiev rudely interferes in church and religious issues in Ukraine, seeking to create a so-called united local church in Ukraine, the State Duma, the lower house of Russia's parliament, said in a statement in connection with the worsening situation in Ukraine on Thursday.
The State Duma, at a plenary meeting on Thursday, adopted a statement on the deterioration of the situation in Ukraine, in which the lower house, among other things, notes US actions that encourage the anti-Russian policy of the Kiev authorities.
"The organizers of the coup in Ukraine in 2014 rudely interfere in church and religious issues, seeking to create a so-called united local church in Ukraine," the statement said.
The Duma also said a relevant statement on the situation in Ukraine would be sent to the UN, the parliamentary assemblies of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), the OSCE and the Council of Europe, as well as Ukraine's parliament and the US Congress.
