MOSCOW (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 28th January, 2019) Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and his Iranian counterpart Mohammad Javad Zarif have discussed the situation in Venezuela and bilateral cooperation by phone, the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement Monday.

"The foreign policy chiefs discussed the current situation in Venezuela. They stressed their reciprocal readiness to help find mutual understanding between the responsible political forces of Venezuela in order to secure the internal peace and to solve urgent social and economic tasks as soon as possible. The ministers exchanged views on a number of urgent issues of bilateral cooperation," the ministry said.
