MOSCOW (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 16th April, 2019) Russia may become one of the world's 10 biggest agricultural exporters in the medium term, Russian Agriculture Minister Dmitry Patrushev said on Tuesday, adding that the country had entered a number of strategically important markets last year.
"The current development of external trade suggests that in the medium term Russia may become one of the world's top 10 exporters of agricultural products, while in some categories Russia has already become one of top three exporters," Patrushev said.
He pointed out that Russia had entered a number of strategically important markets in 2018.
"These are primarily China, but also Morocco, Japan, Singapore, Serbia and Turkey. This is not the full list of countries. Now we may export fish, honey, plant feed to Morocco; meat products to Japan, Singapore, Turkey and Kuwait," the minister stressed.
According to Patrushev, the Russian agricultural exports had significantly increased in 2018 due to the growth of grain, fish and meet deliveries.
