MOSCOW (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 19th March, 2019) The Russia-Ukraine relations can't become better under current Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters Tuesday.
"The president yesterday, while in Crimea, quite exhaustively described his attitude towards the prospects of building at least some kind of relationship with the current leadership of Ukraine...
As for who could be better for our bilateral relations, we can say unequivocally, that [the relations] cannot be better under the current [president of Ukraine]," Peskov said when asked if there was a person among the candidates for Ukraine's presidency, under whom bilateral relations would develop more fruitfully.
He said the Kremlin would prefer "a candidate with sober judgment" to win the Ukrainian presidential election, adding that Moscow would like the future leader of Ukraine to be the president of peace, not war.
