Russia wants to sell more farm products to Jordan and expand the range of exports with technology, Agriculture Minister Dmitry Patrushev said Tuesday.
"Russia is Jordan's biggest grain supplier. It also exports tobacco and beans. But we are interested in selling more grain, meat, dairy and fish to Jordan," Patrushev said at an intergovernmental committee meeting.
The minister estimated that trade between the two nations more than doubled in the first eight months of 2018 from the year before, to roughly $200 million.
Russian exports amounted to $188 million.
"Russian high-tech exports could further expand the list of goods traded with Jordan. Russian firms are interested in selling aircraft, automotive industry products and helicopters," he added.
Russia is in talks with Jordan on pharmaceutical exports and hopes to help the kingdom expand its atomic energy industry, including by building small nuclear reactors, as well as have a bigger role in its transport infrastructure.
